I really wanted a chance to wear my new hat and shirt so here it is! I went to a spontaneous lunch with my mammy and nana at The Woodman pub in mumbles today. It was so lovely being able to have some quality time with both of them before I return back to Falmouth until my return in the middle of March. I feel such a special bond with my beautiful mam and nana. There is a 30 year gap between the three of us and as I turn 20, so they age accordingly to that. It's quite a special year in that respect.

NEW SHOES! I picked these up for £20 in Topshop, looks like my outfit was lucky!

Also, I have started a new skin care regime with the new No7 'Beautiful Skin' range. I'm using the Normal/Oily products and it does what it says on the tin, mattifies, cleanses and hydrates. I use the day cream as a primer, it works just as well as primers I have used in the past and I know that it's good for my skin too! The cleansing water is unbelievable! I usually use a makeup remover wipe and then wash my face but I was astonished to see just how much dirt I am missing! I used the cleansing water after my usual routine and found that there was still makeup residue and dirt left behind that I hadn't before been able to eliminate; the cleansing water does just this. All in all, I am in love with these products!

Recently, I've been rekindling my love of the 1940's, because lets face it, who doesn't love a tea dress, rollered hair and a man in a uniform? This it seems, is where my excitement for summer begins. The thought of retro bikinis and vintage playsuits has me daydreaming the rest of winter away!

Although they aren't vintage, they are still gorgeous and seem to carry that 1940's air about them. The dresses are from Topshop and Miss Selfridge. Just add seamed stockings, a vintage fascinator and some red lipstick and you're set to charm those soldiers!

Home sweet home.

Back in Swansea for a week with my beautiful family and some wonderful friends. Today has been spent having breakfast on the seafront, sifting through sales, reading distressing but beautiful written paragraphs of my book and has been concluded with wine and tapas with my mammy and some television watching with the family. Sale shopping resulted in a new hat...I just couldn't resist! I've wanted a tan coloured floppy hat for the whole of winter and finally, I own one! Also, I received a lovely batch of Topshop makeup as a gift from my Elle subscription. What lovely surprises!

14 books sounds so daunting. However, I have one chapter left of 'Never Let Me Go' by Kazuo Ishiguro and would recommend it to anyone. Its so beautifully written and completely devastating in the most heartbreaking of ways. I couldn't be happier that it's restored my faith in English and somewhat reminded me why i'm doing my course...no matter how much Ishiguro's words make me cry my little heart out!.

Having finally crawled out from under the pile of work I've been hiding under for around a week, I thought it was about time I did a blog post (sorry for the neglect!). I've been a busy-bee writing essays and doing presentations, as well as a little bit of partying (I am a Swansea girl after all). It was a 90's themed night during the week and my friends and are wouldn't have missed it for the world! In the photo you can see my lovely friends Charlotte, dressed as Barbie and Ami, dressed as Eliza Thornberry. I just dressed in 90's-esque fashion (also, please excuse my jib, how I managed to pull such a face is beyond me!). Anyway, the night was filled with far too much vodka and coke, an incriminating game of 'I've never..' and ended with a 'Bombay bicycle club'music session in the kitchen. All in all, a standard night at Tamarisk Castle.

Here are some photos from another night out with the lovely Annie and Suzie! My poor liver will disown me by the end of university I am sure of it, but until then, I shall continue to put my body through such trauma all in the name of a good time.

Having seen a lot of pretty, pastel and feminine outfits in the magazines etc. so I thought I'd kick start my springtime with some inspiration and these are my favorites! Now, I'm well aware that we are still in the midst of winter, but I can't help craving a bit of springtime. If I owned the straw floral hat and pink lace trim ankle sock, I fear I may be the happiest girly alive! I'm also considering saving up to buy the shorts, but possibly in blue instead of pink.

I will love you and leave you with my favorite song of the year so far, I found it a few months ago but it's been on repeat whilst writing my essays and hasn't got old yet! Enjoy, you lovely people!

Okay, so admittedly, this year has been a bit weird so far.

It's been 3 days filled with a boy from the RAF, far too much Christmas chocolate,not enough gym and anything to avoid to massive amount of uni work I am supposed to have been doing over the Christmas period. So it has come to this, I have spent all of my pay on underwear and makeup.

But there are worse ways to spend your money, right?!?

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda Pawb!/ Happy New year everyone!

There is always such a huge build up to that one moment where the date changes from an 11 to a 12; a moment where you feel that your slate has been wiped clean so to speak; a moment where you can be somebody else. Everyone wants to spend this moment with those who they love in hope that they will be somewhat cosmically bound to stay as close throughout this new changed year.

This year, I spent my new years eve behind the bar, pouring jagerbombs in fact, and at that moment I was alone, aside from the bottle of jagermeister I was clutching ready to pour and hand over to very drunk, very patronising and very happy customers. Now, if this romantic/poetic idea that who you spend this moment with will determine the rest of the year then surely that means this year i'm destined to be a lonely alcoholic? Feeling slightly skeptical about this as I don't feel very alone (despite how little I ahve seen of, well, anyone as of recent) and i'm sure that I can't afford to be an alcoholic! In conclusion, I have chosen to disregard this fictional rule of your fate determined by a single moment.

As for new years resolutions, of course I have millions! Aware that trying to keep millions of resolutions will only end in complete exhaustion, I will of course only focus on one or two, but the others can stay there to keep me inspired and motivated to better myself in any way that I can!

1. I will try my very best and work harder so that I can pass if not excell at my degree

2. I will be healthier and stop eating quite so much excessive amounts of chocolate

3. I will be happy, no matter how bad things get, I will be optimistic and just pull myself out of the bad mood (wine is allowed if required)

Since I've been home, it seems that I've been more busy than ever! My mum's birthday was a few days ago and we went up to London to see the wonderful Russell Howard and the absolutely astonishing Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition. It was a lovely couple of days, especially the wandering around Covent Garden and Trafalgar square and bottles of wine. I think my mum enjoyed, London is just so fantastic. Christmas is next on the agenda now, and I've been excited for months, so much so that now we are but a few days away and I have managed to make myself unwell. How ironic is that?! Nothing major, just a cold but sniffling and coughing like I've been standing in the rain in my underwear for days is not very attractive at all! Also, there is so much Christmas shopping and baking to be done. Some presents are wrapped and under the tree, but other remain hidden in the corners of shops i'm yet to visit. The best friends are back in Swansea, and I so look forward to see Emily tomorrow having already seen Jenny yesterday. It really is good to be at home! Bring on Christmas eve and the festive family time; don't you all just absolutely adore Christmas??!?!!?!

Having just become aware of Davina McCall's new fitness range for Next, the '10 days for £10' gym offer that sits next to my bed, hidden away in its envelope, suddenly doesn't seem quite as daunting! With the new year fast approaching and especially after all of those mince pies and large glasses of mulled wine, I can't help but long for the motivation to put down the piece of Christmas cake and get myself to the gym.

My first pick of the collection has to be this lovely red and stripey vest.

It looks really trendy and casual, not like the usual plain vest I would usually end up wearing! You would ultimately feel more confident working out in this adorable top. It looks casual and comfortable, what more could you need for a workout?!

These charcoal coloured joggers caught my eye too. Often when I go for a run I find that I'm forever pulling my joggers up, however, the large waistband on these makes them look more practical and comfy! The ruched detail and cuffed ankles make them that slight bit more edgy and stylish.

As for shoes, aren't these just beautiful!? The metallic pink outside and floral inner lining give these trainers such an adorable feel to them. Also, the 'canvas pumps, in metallic or pretty floralprint, carry the promise of decreased heel impact.'

My favourite of these items has to be the joggers, but the whole range looks fantastic!

All in all, I am very very excited for the launch of Davina for Next in spring 2011!

The photo is from the summer but I am home at last! The amount I have missed my room, among everything and everyone else, is incredible. I instantly feel at home in my surrounding; probably because I've spent years sticking things to my walls, hanging up clothes in places clothes shouldn't be hung and balancing books on boxes. I've had such a funny few days but the comfort of my own home surprised me with how much calmer I instantly feel. Of course, I will be missing everyone at Falmouth, but it will no doubt make our adventures next term even more special!

I arrived home to two ELLE magazines, issues December and January, and to a £25 gift voucher on Kurt Geiger (Thank ELLE!!!); watch this space in the new year to see if I've managed to pick up a beautiful (but somewhat bargin) pair of KG heels or not! I also received a letter from my old gym offering me 10 days of gym for only £10! Christmas has come far sooner than I expected it seems, I'm one very excited girl that's for sure.

I may have already posted this photo in a previous post but I thought it was relevant again.

I start back work on Tuesday as well which is so exciting, providing I can remember how to pour a pint that is! However, despite my workload and coursework, I am so looking forward to spending time with my beautiful, beautiful family. Seeing my mum, dad, brother and dog, Casper, this evening was such a happy moment. The 7 hour train journey is definitely worth it!

So, I guess my advent countdown went out of the window along with my will to live. I've been really busy with essays but i'm so glad to say that i'm finished! I do have plenty of work to do over Christmas, but that is irrelevant at this precise moment in time, more to the point, I'M GOING HOME ON SATURDAY! Excitement doesn't cover it.

Also, I haven't bought Vogue in a while and i'm getting unreal cravings for it!

December has arrived (finally) and I have only one week until I go home and see the family! I'm excited for secret Santa and Christmas roast dinner with my wonderful friends here in Falmouth; but I really wouldn't mind going home to my family, job and beautiful dog. I don't even have an advent calender!! However, thanks to galadarling, I have found an advent calender that means I don't have to get fat off chocolates!

Upon hearing the the doorbell chime at around 11.30 this morning, the only thoughts running through my head were that of, 'please let someone else be awake so that I don't have to get up' and 'there is no way that i'm leaving the comfort of my bed', however, no footsteps where to be heard throughout the house and there was no opening and closing of doors. With this, the thought occurred to me that perhaps the parcel was mine and I near enough leapt out of bed. I was so glad to have forced myself out of bed. My absolutely incredible mother had sent me one of my favourite, but as good as unworn, dresses, my pearls and my headband for a 1920's themed night out that I shall be attending soon this month and some money to keep me going! This definitely made my whole day. Also, I got 99 photos for 99p from snapfish.com which were delivered today. How exciting!

Now, the money I was supposed to be using to 'keep me going' was probably intended for food and bills but upon a visit to Falmouth's vintage flea market with the darling Annie and Suzie, I found this Charlotte Halton shirt. I am led to believe (courtesy of my mammy) that before River island was River island, it was Chelsea girl, but before it was Chelsea girl it was Charlotte Halton! I love sheer shirts at the moment but topshop is just so expensive considering that I am a poor student, so this was not only vintage and beautiful enough to catch my eye, but was a purse stealing six pound! I am so pleased with my purchase, not to mention a lovely day with friends well spent!

Conversations have been floating around my living room about a 1990's theme event in our student union in the new year and this has really got me thinking about the 1990's fashion. Now, I was a 90's kid, but instead of marching around in doc martens, crop tops and heavy makeup, I was running around in lion king pajamas, armed with my Polly pockets and Barbies. Being young I never really had the opportunity to be grungy and cool like the 90's fashion I hear about, so why not start now?

It may only be the twenty third of November and the trees may still be full of copper leaves, but that isn't going to stop my thoughts reeling towards the festivities of December. To say that I am excited for Christmas would be an absolute understatement. With one essay still to write and a Christmas cake to bake for my university family, I still have two weeks before I begin my travels back to Swansea (where no doubt my mum will feed me up like a stuffed turkey and wrap me up in scarves and mittens). With plans to make mince pies, drink mulled wine and get the Christmas decorations down from the attic, how on earth am I expected to concentrate on a 3000 word essay on 'Cultural Theory'? I have decided, quite simply, that if I blog about this childish hope for yet another wonderful Christmas, it shall be out of my system and I shall be free to focus entirely on the pretentious wittering of the likes of Foucault and other such theorists! Of course, I don't really resent this essay writing (or the theorists, however pretentious their writing is or not) as much as I am claiming, getting started is just such a huge effort for which I seem to be devoid of motivation. However, back to the festive spirit!

I thought I would share my Christmas list for 2011.

Pretty underwear is something I ask for every year. A girl can never, ever, have too much underwear (although I must admit, when my vintage 'Selfridges' box (where I store my undies) started to break, I did consider that I maybe need a clear out before I buy anymore!

Perfume, and Marc Jacobs Daisy is my absolute favourite (although I'm not particularly fussy, as long as it smells pretty then I'm sold!)

This year I would love some cake decorating tools! There isn't much of a better feeling than having decorated 12 cupcakes to the best of your ability and just sitting there admiring them (until the rest of the family swoops in and gobble up your beautiful creations!).

However, Christmas isn't all about the presents.
It's about family and there is nothing more I would like for Christmas than to spend it with them eating crackers and drinking wine! (Although, take note Santa, if you want to wrap up a nice boy to put under my Christmas tree, I definitely will not be complaining, Thanks!!)
Glad to have that out of my system, hope you all are as excited as I am!!

I went for a little trip into town with Annie, one of my best friends. It was a lovely little day out but tomorrow will be spent cooped up in the library writing essays and planning presentations.

On another note, I picked this t-shirt up from a charity shop on my travels. Its got the old New look label but it so cosy and I intend to be wearing it quite a bit this winter with some leggings my leather jacket.

Just a few snaps of my new bedroom here at university. I haven't had a chance to put any photos up until now! Have been pretty homesick the past week. I miss my mum, dad, brother and adorable dog, Casper, an awful lot. Apparently I have a parcel on its way to me, so that's exciting! Please hurry Mr Postman, my welsh heart misses the comfort of my own home in Swansea. My brain seems alive with thought these early hours of the morning and so I can't quite fall asleep. This being said, I've been having Bridget Jones' Diary cravings for weeks and now seems like the perfect opportunity to watch it (hence the quote at the beginning of this post)!! I just know that I will end up just like her in a few years, married to my bottle of wine and forming love affairs with Ben and Jerry's ice cream. However, on a more upbeat note, I'm seeing one of my lovely best friends, India, on thursday for a warm cuppa and a catch up; to say I'm excited would be an understatement! Despite the oven glass shattering, a doorbreaking and my lamp bulb being smashed, our house party/pre-drink session wasa success. Who doesn’t love Halloween? I crashed the History social with my lovely best friend Ami, dressed as Holly Go-lightly from Breakfast at Tiffanys. Audrey Hepburn will always be on of the most beautiful women ever and I could never aspire to be as beautiful as her. I'm still working on my beehive skills and hope to perfect it at some point, it always seems to be ridiculously messy at the back due to the sheer amount of hair I seem to have. As much as i shouldnt complain, it can be such a nuisance.

I went a little bit overboard with my pay...
The grey tshirt and blue jeans were bought to go back to university but the bag and makeup are, of course, completely impulse. I saw the bag and just fell in love...as for the makeup, a girl can never have too much! The maxfactor mascara is really good! I tend to use maxfactor mascara as a staple anyway, but this false lash effect one is really pretty good! The lip tint is also lovely. The No7 lipstick and nail varnish are similar nude colours, not entirely sure the lipstick suits me that much, but we shall see! Lastly, nail glitter!! Because who doesn't want pretty pink glittery nails?

As much as I love my room here in Swansea, my friends, my family and my sense of home...i'm missing Falmouth so much recently. Today, or perhaps I should say yesterday now seeing as its 3am, was my best friend from university, Annie's, 19th birthday! Recieving her drunken 'birthday night out' phonecall earlier telling me how much she loves and misses me definately made my night. She also preceeded to tell me how two bartenders gave her five free drinks. I'm so happy my lovely Annie had a brilliant 19th, only sad I wasn't there to pour the wine down her throat myself! I have the best part of a month left in Swansea now and instead of moping around, I would love to do something practical. I'm working on the weekend but I hope to spend some quality time with my mum and the rest of the family and friends in the days inbetween. The photo above is basically just to show off my mirror. When my dad found it, it was horrible and black but i've painted the frame cream and cleaned up the mirror and I hope you'll agree that it looks great!!

Before I love you and leave you for a good nights sleep, heres a few things on my list for this autumn; Burgandy heels, a maxi skirt, satchel bag and some beautiful accessories. This weeks pay should hopefully help to contribute to my autumn/winter wardrobe!

Okay, so I've been working pretty hard recently. I pull pints and spill sambucca at a lovely little music venue called 'The Garage'. Granted, I haven't been working there so long, but I think i'm getting the hang of it and have made such lovely friends so far! Everyone there is so happy and, yes, it really is infectious. Basically, what i'm trying to say is that I love my job. Tomorrow will be my fourth night in a row as it's the last night of the Uplands festival. However, as i've barely found the energy I need to walk the dog in the daytimes, most of them have been spent on my sofa watching films and wandering the internet for inspiration and ideas. I thought I would share a few seeing as everyone needs a bit of inspiration every now and again!!

Nearing the end of August, we begin to realise that, naturally, September is going to march in with all its copper leaves and cold sun to remind us that it's nearly time to return to school (or perhaps, college and university in my case). I found this cute little checklist for 'Tips for back to school shopping'. Now, as i'm sure that we all love shopping, we don't really need too muh advice about it (except of course on how to put our purses away) but this is just a sweet like reminder to buy some paper and invest in a good bag and pair of shoes..afterall, they have to endure the overwhelming awsomeness of how you look while you storming the corridors for handsome boys to crush on for the year (and of course to take the weight of all those heavy reference books we will be forced to carry around like donkeys).

The parents have been away on holiday in sunny and beautifully hot Greece this week and so i've had to wonderful task of taking care of, what essentially is becoming a farm but in reality is just, a few chickens, Casper my beautiful dog and the fishpond. However, it isn't without its downside. Our egg basket is overflowing!! Due to the afore mentioned tiredness and lack of motivation to even move, I haven't been able to do any proper baking. Now, I shouldn't bore you with my absolute obsession with the 1960's, but I find that I will. Born in the wrong era, as one of my best friends has told me in the past, I feel that my heart belongs the sixties. The clothes!! The big earrings, the cat-eye makeup and, of course, the shift dresses! Having looked at the River Island website recently, contemplating what to spend my money on (clothes or homeware for second year university?), I stumbled across an array of sixties inspired designs! This beautiful dress stood out to me immediately and so much so that I tried it on in the shop....I'm waiting untill pay day! Definately check some of the things out, and even if the sixties isn't your scene, there are beautiful burgandy and copper coloured maxi skirts that i'm sure you'll be as eager to get your hands on as i am!!

Midday and i'm still in my pjamas wrapped up in bed wishing that I could go back to sleep. Anaemia is the bane of my life; perks of being a vegetarian. On another note, I thought i'd share my new purchases and drawings with you! The red jumper in the first picture is definately one of my new autumn/winter staples. I rarely seem to find anything red that i'm not overly fussy about, but fisherman rib at a reasonable price and i find I can't argue, let alone stop myself from placing it in the already full primark basket. Needless to say, I had a bit of a Primark splurge which included undies, leggings, the afore mentioned jumper and some really cheap false nails. You can't go wrong really. The second picture is just of my magazine collection this month, my sketchbook and a beautiful laura ashley 'home decorating' book that I found in a charity shop. I will be sure to post about it soon, after i've tried out some of the craft ideas from the back pages. Lastly, here is just a photograph of my most recent sketchbook work. I've been doing a lot of pen work but i'm not entirely sure if I can pull it off.

I can already feel summer slowly falling off the trees and landing in copper piles. Autumn is my favourite season and i'm far too eager for it to arrive. I've got a really strange feelng running through my veins, i've been drawing a lot the past 2 days and I have a frustrating urge to just make/write/create things. It shouldn't suprise me as much as it has, but I haven't felt this creative in such a long time. I'm sure to put some of my drawings up tomorrow for anyone that might be interested in having a look. I still maintain that they aren't extraordinary but i'm going to keep doing it because its something that seems to make my fingers twitch if I don't get it onto paper quick enough.

So, as well as this finger-twitching creativity, the chilling autumn gives way to a small longing for cwtches and disney films shared with someone male and charming. Now, as to not be mistaken, i'm not going to conduct some desperate single girl man hunt, or even look for someone to watch disney films with. If someone comes along and sweeps me off my feet, then I definately won't complain, but untill then, I found this marvelous article on galadarling. A few weeks ago, my wonderful mum and dad took me and my best friend (annie) from university to see one of my favourite artists, Sarah Jarosz perform. Bush hall is such a beautiful little venue and that evening it held some seriously spectacular talent.

My little brother has just turned seveenteen and so i made him birthday cupcakes with the logo of his favourite car part company on and some with 17 on of course. There is one of a car...but it looks more like postman pat's Royal Mail van.

I have just spent the evening with my mam seeing as dad's away on work and my brother is out with his friends. We made a lovely dinner for the two of us; homemade salsa and tortilla chips as a starter; a pesto, courgette, pepper, mozzarella and pine nut pasta dish as main and some lemon and raspberry sorbet for dessert. Whilst eating this lovely dinner (that, as you can tell, I am very very proud of!), we watched 'The Black Swan'. Natalie Portman is just beautiful; I wish I could dance.

Last night I went out for a quiet drink with my friend, Jooyun, which turned out to be a standard messy wednesday night out with Millie and far too much alcohol consumption. I saw the boy I liked, in all childish sense of the phrase. He told me that I looked nice and asked how long I was home for.

Well, my goodness, it has been far too long! Sorry for neglecting the blog, essays are boring a hole right the way through my brain, it makes for good writing though. I hope everyone had a lovely easter and are enjoying the May weather that is apparently splendid everywhere; everywhere except Cornwall that is. Leaving the rare Swansea sunshine for cloudy Cornwall was quite heartbreaking, speckles of rain started appearing on the train window around Plymouth and my heart literally sank. Nevertheless, it is lovely to be back (despite the workload) and even more lovely to see everyone again after the month holiday.

My mammy took me for a picnic down the beach on my last day on swansea. It included wine, strawberries pineapple and cheese sandwiches; what more could I want?! Missing my mam lots at the moment <3

It's nice of course to be re-united with my friends again! Above is me and Annie before our Monday night out; A messy night by all accounts.

I love April. Not only is it my birth month, but my parents got married April a few years ago. It's my dad's birthday and the daffodils begin to make way for the bluebells (perks of livin next to a woods). Buy me tulips and take me to the beach?

My mammy bought me a heart shaped cake tin back in february and I thought it would be about time I put it to good use! I was quite proud of my mothers day cake, it turned out better than I had expected :)

After a cup of tea and a piece of my mammys Mothers day cake, I drove the family down to Oxwich bay to walk the dog. Ohh, I do love the seaside. I couldn't help but dip my feet in, the rest of my family kept their shoes firmly on their feet of course and seemed to just stare in disbelief that I was actually standing in the (freezing cold) sea that even Casper (my dog) wouldn't venture into; although, they should be used to it by now. Tired from walking across the beach and back, we went for a quick drink in the 'Oxwich bay Hotel' on the outside tables, it was lovely to be all together as a family, happy and calm.Evenings like this one make me happy to be home. I hope your Mothers day was just as special.

It was my last day in Falmouth before returning to Swansea for the Easter holidays, and what a wonderful last day it was! The sunshine definately had put his hat on and we decided that it would be a perfect opportunity to brave the world with our pale legs and finally have that cream tea we've been craving for months! Overdraft or no overdraft, nothing was going to stop me from cream teas and vintage finds!

Upon visiting our favourite vintage shop in Falmouth, The two little birds boutique, I found this gorgeous 'Liberty of London' denim jacket. The pattern inside in just devine and it truely is an astonishing item of clothing! The previous owner, Alice Timlin (as written on the label) was a very, VERY, lucky girl! Thank you to the Two little birds for allowing me to photograph this lovely piece of vintage, if I couldn't own it, I at least had to share it's beauty!

It was also the Falmouth Flea Market in the WI hall, hosted by Kitty Gubbins. The photographs above show her set up, how lovely! Sometimes I just love being among vintage clothing and treasures, there is something beautiful about things with little stories behind them.

Also, a lovely spread from Hayleys Dream with adorable handmade jewellery! Simply wonderful :)

What a lovely day out with the girls! I will definately miss beautiful Falmouth this easter but at least when I return it is sure to be time spent in sunshine and upon seashore. Love, x

Lots and lots and lots of work to be done, but just enough to time to show off my expert fringe trimming skills and newest buys! The shorts and bra cost me £3 each; I was so pleased with my bargins!! The shoes are my absolute fave, New look, but beautiful and so comfy! I had a lovely day with My darling flatmate, India. She is leaving university soon and I really am going to miss her tremendously! We have some shenanigans planned for the easter holidays though seeing as we don't live to far away at home. The sun showed itself yesterday and the only solution to such glorious weather seemed to be shandy on the grass, sketchbooks and good company. Just look at how beautiful all my friends are! It was a lovely afternoon just before an even more eventful evening.

It was Falmouth's 'Spring Break' Pub crawl, complete with t-shirts and a score card to be entered into a raffle. It was good to be ot with the girls and to be drinking, singing and genuinely having a laugh; By this I mean causing as much mischief as possible. There was a powercut at 1am and so we headed home; however my fear of the dark left me a little traumatised. Other than that it was a good night!

This week has been tiresome and dramatic, but i'm suprising amounts of happy considering the situation. We found a house for next year...finally! Feelings were hurt along the way though for which we all feel terrible. Home for easter in around two weeks, really excited to see my girlies, and my family of course. Easter means that my birthday will be fast approaching and, as much as I don't want to grow up to an ancient age of nineteen, i'm looking forward to some grand celebrations. Never will the Breakfast at tiffanys quote, 'Promise me one thing, don't take me home untill i'm drunk', take on such meaning. My poor liver! It's the first of March, Saint David's day and this is where I consider that spring has begun. In a walk to asda, how adventurous, there were daffodils and catkins everywhere; this, to me, is spring. I've just spent my morning making the largest batch of welchcakes i've ever made and i think i've outdone myself; not to be big headed or anything, as that is something i'm definately not, but they are delicious! I even put red undies on in honour of Wales <3

In the afternoon, inspired by watching James Brown on 4OD, I decided to attempt to do a beehive for the first time. Here are the results, i'm not too sure; what do you think?

This is purely just a 'what a wore' to Band night this evening. It was a charity event for 'Shelterbox' (a disaster charity) and the music was great. Despite the grand music, the highlight of my evening has to have been some very amusing dancers (for instance, a rather arrogant female who clearly considered herself Beyonce and an incredible male who seemed as though he was on an entirely different planet). To focus on the music, or the band more so i guess, I really wouldnt mind a lovely song writing, guitar playing, check shirt buttoned to the neck and stucked into the trousers wearing young gentleman to come and sweep me off my feet (although I gather that may very well be far more difficult that it sounds; I'd settle for a cheeky smile and an introduction). Goodness me, where are all the decent lads? Seeing as even those I consider my friends take me for granted, I think that it is high time that some good looking fellow came to cheer me up.

Just a quick post after being busy and unwell this week. Apologies.

I've had a lovely week home, time just seems to whizz and blur past so quickly though. I felt like a 1960's muse Friday night; after a meal in La Tasca with the mother (honestly the best restraunt ever, I love tapas) we headed down to 'The Vault' where local band 'The Brothel Creepers' were playing some old tunes that kept us all dancing. I wore my favourite dress, a pale green and cream shift dress from topshop and some low navy and cream heels with my staple string of pearls. We drank white wine and bumped into some unexpected aqcuintances (including an ex-boyfriends mother and sister). Saturday night was a wind street outing. Me and Joo took the street by storm and had a messy night for old times sake. Sunday brought sewing, rocket lollys, 1960's lust and the Beatles with some family time and good food. All in all, a Wonderful weekend leading to another night out tonight and then Barbie and Action man carnage next week! I sincerely hope everyone else's weekend was just as wonderful as my own, LOVE xx

Have been feeling really homesick and unwell in general and seeing as I have a week off, what better way to spend it than at home with the people I love the very most?! As you can see, I'm pleased to see my little brother and thought I would share him with you, especially as the lucky so and so stole all the pretty genes!

Also, cannot wait to see this beautiful creature who is my best friend in this world, Emily. I have missed her terribly; telephone calls and texting is just not enough. SO excited to see her tomorrow for some serious catch up.

Spring trend: 1970's glamour.

This springtime imagine yourself floating down the beach in a loose fitting skirt,crop top and oversized sunglasses, your hair long and flowy with only the most charming of accessories. Think wideleg trousers and slouchy jumpers paired with heels and a belt or perhaps go more bohemian ina baggy yet elegant jumpsuit.

Just a few springtime ideas in my incredulous hope that the cold will dissipate quickly to make room for tulips and cloudy sunshine. Although all of the trends for spring point towards 'Ballet', '70's chic' and even 'biker', I have plans to just take it as it comes this spring with clean cut simplicity. White t-shirts or vests with denim, brogues, tousled 'i've just rolled around in bed for an hour before getting up' hair and red lipstick. Of course i'll incorporate a headscarf and a jacket or two into themix but my main principle will be simplicity (untill the floral tea dresses distract my attention and send me flying into a 1940's wartime housewife that is).

As for the evening?

I will definately have to stick to my love of the 1960's and take inspiration from the heavy eyeliner and glamourous hairstyles. Red lipstick will make an appearance for special occasions infusing some 1940's starlett into the mix of things but in general; shift dresses, black tights, eyeliner and some decent jewellery. Keep it casual with a coat for colder evenings and glam up in your favourite heels.

It just so happens that in trying my hardest not to rip my favourite tights, I managed to rip them more than any usual pair. How typical. However, the night was a nice one spent amongst friends and in other such good company. We went to a different bar than normal, an underground grimy one, but it was a change of scenery. Have pretty much slept through the past two days, which is never good. Also, I have a week and a half off from university this week, thank goodness! Would really like to go home for it, but there is no way of that happening unfortunately.

Look a bit fat in the first photograph, can't help that really.

They say that you should focus either on 'eyes' or 'lips', but, as a makeup obsessive, i prefer both for a night out. Try red lipstick and black eyeliner (which is always a must). It made me feel just that bit more confident, I'm sick of rejection so grab the boys attention.

My Flatmates have been trying to teach me guitar. I think I have successfully mastered 'Anyone else but you - The mouldy Peaches' with of courses a few glitches, but I think I've done alright considering I only started last night at 3am. The guitar is my Flatmate Josh's and is absolutely lovely. He has kindly lent it to me for a few days to practice with, I love my flat family. However, I am well aware that I should hurry up and write my essays rather than having tea parties and guitar lessons.

Sorry I haven't written recently. Settling into University is quite an ordeal. Have met some lovely people, the place is just beautiful and I love my course even though it's quite a headfuck. I love all my new friends and feel like an almost entirely new person, some parts good, some parts bad. More actual relevant posts to come I promise, hope you are all well, xx
